![]() ![]() I switched from SmartFTP to FileZilla a month ago. ![]() I like the overall design and user-friendliness of it. But it keeps disconnecting from my server every 5 minutes or so, I'm not sure exactly since the command line lacks a timestamp but I think it's about 5 minutes. This can be quite annoying as I was trying to upload a large folder recently and it disconnected in the middle of the transfer. I tried all different server settings to no avail. One thing I do notice is in the network configuration wizard, when I test my client it says "Response: 502 Port mismatch. ![]() ![]() That was both when I had it set to "Ask operating system for a port." and when I tried to restrict the ports to 7000-7040 after forwarding them all to my PC. I also tried the keep alive command option and the server disconnected after a keep-alive.Ĭode: Select all SmartFTP v.27 There's no way for me to let FileZilla accept connections on all ports, since my router's firewall does not recognize individual applications. 220-This is a private system - No anonymous login 220-You are user number 2 of 50 allowed. Works Update: In some cases, and for reasons unknown, Filezilla just wont work. Genuine dropped connections are usually caused by firewalls. If the transfer proceeds and completes, there is little to worry about this is a misreported or imprecise warning. FileZilla reports disconnection in its log file, but does not identify which connection was dropped or why. Try connecting to your FTP site once again. Then ensure you are publishing ONLY to with the path being public_html - don’t publish other URLs to subfolders they should each have their own account.ĭespite some glitches, RW publishing is pretty rock solid. In your shoes, I would spend a day tidying up your entire folder structure, give every URL a proper name (not just the default RW 'page 11, " etc). Honestly and not meaning to rude, it is quite a mess and I would have to suspect that there may be duplicate page names or something like this going on which is playing havoc with the publishing engine. If you do a site: search for the standard URL, around 320 pages are shown including duplicate page names and some with 2 page numbers FileZilla can be configured to send Keep Alive commands such as PWD, REST 0, TYPE A, or. To elaborate If you do a site: search for the long URL, 5 pages come up - all duplicates (albeit possibly updated) of pages found on the regular URL but in a different place. Most FTP connections time out if you have been idle for too long. Yet you have this URL indexed along with over 300 pages from the URL - none of which have any proper file / folder names. Aside from the publishing issues, why such a convoluted web address? is not normal protocol for a business address. ![]()
